HUNTING OPTIONS

There are two types of hunts on offer: Package Hunting and Daily rate/trophy Hunting

Package Hunting

The price quoted on a package includes daily rates, all the items listed below as included in daily rates as well as the animals indicated on the package. These packages have specific appeal for the first time hunter to Africa as it provides him with an economic way of getting to know safari hunting as well as to familiarize himself with a variety of animals in different terrains to hunt. You are allowed to add animals from the price list to a package. However, the package animals will be prioritized in the hunt and the extras will be hunted as time allows or when the opportunity arises. It is good practice to inform your professional hunter of the extra animals you are interested in before the hunt commences to that you do not lose valuable opportunities that may present themselves during hunting. By special request we may exchange some animals on a package with animals from the list price. Please note though that the value of the package animals you wish to exchange will be subtracted from your package at their package value (i.e. At 70 – 80% of the list price value) and the substitute animals added at their full list value. We limit such exchanges to one or two animals per package. Any animals not hunted from a package due to the fact that the hunter had no opportunities or shots at them will be refunded at the package value. All package hunting is done in the Eastern Cape from the Aloe and Elephant Lodge.

Daily rate/trophy hunting

To exercise complete freedom of choice with regard to the animals hunted the hunter is advised to choose the daily rate/trophy list option. In this case the hunter pays the daily rate for the number of days hunted and the price indicated on the price list per animal shot or wounded. The daily rates that are quoted are for the Eastern Cape and hunting is done from the Aloe and Elephant Lodge unless otherwise stated. The other provinces of South Africa operate on the same pricing structure. Different daily rates and trophy fees will be quoted out of South Africa.

Both options offer you the same service and hunting areas. Trophy quality is sometimes better on the daily rate option as it offers selectivity and the opportunity to spend more time hunting one specific animal rather than working your way through a list of animals.

Observers are welcome on both types of hunts and more than one can be taken along. They will be charged the indicated observer rate. Observers as well as hunters can have some tourism/shopping days during a safari. The observer will then pay the tourism rate instead of the observer rate for that day. The hunter is covered by his normal daily rate.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

FOR THE 2008 SEASON ALL PACKAGES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED AS YOU WILL SEE ON THE AVAILABLE PRICE LIST. INSTEAD THE DAILY RATE HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY LOWERED TO ENABLE CLIENTS TO HAVE AN OPEN LIST WHILE STILL PAYING PACKAGE PRICES. Limited To the 2008 season only.
